Biology is considered an interdisciplinary science, which is related to other sciences. Some of these are mentioned below.

1. Biophysics:

It is a branch of physics in which laws and techniques of physics are applied to explain the process of life.

Example:

Uses of sound waves as ultrasound and laser technology show relation of physics with biology.

2. Biometry or Biomathematics:

The branch of mathematics which collects data of living organisms using mathematical techniques and tools is called Biometry or Biomathematics.

3. Biochemistry:

A branch of biology that deals with the study of molecules that form living organisms or cells. Authentic knowledge of biology and chemistry is required to explain the synthesis of biomolecules and the function of different molecules in the body of organisms.

Example:

The study of basic metabolism of photosynthesis and respiration involves the knowledge of chemistry.

3. Biogeography:

It deals with the distribution of different living organisms in different geographical regions of the world.

Example:

Many living organisms are restricted to particular geographical regions due to environmental conditions.

4. Bio-Economics:

The calculations of the economic value of organisms involved in production such as meat production, etc, for cast value and profit value.
