Lother Meyer’s classification states that
The properties of the elements repeat periodically based on their atomic volume.
Meyer’s graph, also known as the Meyer curve, was a graphical representation he created to demonstrate the periodicity of chemical properties. It plotted atomic volume (the reciprocal of density) against atomic weight for various elements. By doing so, Meyer noticed that elements with similar chemical properties fell into groups and exhibited a periodic pattern when arranged in ascending order of atomic weight.
