(iv) Web Browser:

A web browser is a software application that allows users to access and navigate the World Wide Web. It retrieves, interprets, and displays web pages, allowing users to view websites, interact with web-based applications, and consume various types of online content.

v) Uniform Resource Locator (URL):

A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is the address used to locate and access resources on the internet. It serves as a unique identifier for a specific web page, website, file, or any other resource available online. URLs are used by web browsers to retrieve the requested resource and display it to the user. It includes the following two components.

  • The protocol used to access the resource (https://
  • The location of the server. (www.google.com)

    (vi) Search Engine:

    A search engine is an online tool or service that allows users to search for information on the internet. It helps users find relevant websites, web pages, images, videos, documents, and other types of content based on their search queries.

    (vii) Home Page:

    A home page, also known as a homepage or start page, is the main or introductory page of a website. It is the default page that users see when they visit a website by entering its domain name or clicking on its URL.

    (vii) Web Hosting:

    Web hosting refers to the service of providing storage space and resources for websites to be accessible on the Internet. When you create a website, it needs to be hosted on a server so that it can be accessed by users worldwide.

    (viii) Web Server:

    A web server is a computer program or software that serves as the foundation for delivering web content to clients, such as web browsers when requested over the internet. It handles the processing of HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) requests and serves the requested files, web pages, or other resources to the client.

    Types Of Website:

    Portal:

    A portal, in the context of the Internet, refers to a website or online platform that serves as a gateway or entry point to a wide range of information, resources, services, and applications. It is designed to provide users with a centralized location for accessing various content and functionality.

    News:

    News portals, also known as news websites or news aggregators, are online platforms that provide users with a wide range of news articles, reports, and updates from various sources. They serve as a centralized source of news and information on a diverse range of topics, including current events, politics, business, sports, entertainment, science, and more.

    Informational:

    Informational websites provide detailed information about any field.There are many dedicated informational websites for science, arts, sports,online training, research, etc.

    Educational:
